Programda, Tanzimat'tan günümüze uzanan Türk düşüncesindeki istikamet arayışı kapsamlı bir perspektifle ele alındı. Din-devlet ilişkileri, Doğu-Batı dengesi, Batılılaşma süreci, darbelerin düşünce hayatına etkileri ile Mehmet Âkif Ersoy ve Said Halim Paşa gibi önemli isimlerin fikir dünyası üzerine yapılan değerlendirmeler, katılımcılara yeni ufuklar kazandırdı. Hocamızın aktardığı pek çok kıymetli bilgi, katılımcılar için farklı bakış açıları sunan verimli bir hasbihal ortamı oluşturdu.

Program kapsamında ayrıca Doç. Dr. Vahdettin Işık'ın Mahya Yayınları tarafından yayımlanan Türk Düşüncesinde İstikamet Arayışı adlı eserinin de kısa bir tanıtımı gerçekleştirildi.

Muhabbet İkramlarla Devam Etti

Saat 18.00 sularında başlayan program, akşam namazı arasının ardından ikramlar eşliğinde gerçekleştirilen samimi sohbet ve soru-cevap bölümüyle devam etti. Katılımcıların yoğun ilgisiyle geçen buluşma, süresinin uzunluğuna rağmen en keyifli ve verimli IIUMDER İstanbul Buluşmalarından biri olarak hafızalarda yer etti.

Darüşşifa'nın tarihî atmosferi soğuk bir kış akşamında içimizi huzurla ısıtan havası, programa ayrı bir güzellik kattı. Resmî programın ardından vakti olan mezunlarımızla birlikte tarihî Vefa Bozacısı'na gidilerek sohbetler sürdürüldü ve IIUMDER ailesinin ortak hatıralarına bir yenisi daha eklendi.

IIUMDER olarak dostluğu, kardeşliği ve ilmî paylaşımı güçlendiren bu kıymetli buluşmaların artarak devam etmesini temenni ediyor; bir sonraki İstanbul Buluşması'nda daha geniş bir katılımla yeniden bir araya gelmeyi sabırsızlıkla bekliyoruz.

The program offered a comprehensive perspective on the search for direction in Turkish thought, spanning from the Tanzimat era to the present day. Discussions on the relationship between religion and the state, the balance between East and West, the process of Westernization, the impact of coups on intellectual life, and the intellectual worlds of prominent figures such as Mehmet Âkif Ersoy and Said Halim Pasha opened up new horizons for the participants. The wealth of valuable information shared by our instructor fostered a productive atmosphere of discussion, offering participants diverse perspectives.

As part of the program, a brief presentation was also given on Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vahdettin Işık’s book ‘The Search for Direction in Turkish Thought’, published by Mahya Yayınları.

The Gathering Continued with Refreshments

The program, which began around 6:00 p.m., continued with a warm conversation and a question-and-answer session accompanied by refreshments following the break for evening prayer. The gathering, which drew intense interest from the participants, was remembered as one of the most enjoyable and productive IIUMDER Istanbul Gatherings, despite its length.

The historic atmosphere of Darüşşifa—with its ambiance that warmed our hearts with a sense of peace on a cold winter evening—added a special touch to the event. Following the official program, those alumni who had time joined us at the historic Vefa Bozacısı, where we continued our conversations and added yet another shared memory to the IIUMDER family.

As IIUMDER, we hope that these valuable gatherings, which strengthen friendship, brotherhood, and the sharing of knowledge, will continue to grow; we eagerly look forward to coming together again at the next Istanbul Gathering with an even larger turnout.
